In the production processes of polymeric parts, polymers are usually melted and poured into the mold; after cooling and being formed, it is removed from the mold. Due to the possibility of the part sticking to the surface of the mold, its removal from the mold can be difficult. To overcome this problem, the mold is often impregnated with silicone oil and is then molded. It prevents the polymer piece from sticking to the mold.
Mold release oil is a milky emulsion based on silicone, which has been produced to quickly and easily remove polymeric parts from the mold. This product has a general use and is suitable for most cases that do not need to be painted after molding.
Mold release oil can be used in injection and compression molding of ABS, acetal, acrylic, epoxy resins, high density polyethylene, nylon, polypropylene and polysulfone.
